A racing double header…now that’s the life. The Mid American Stock Car Series was scheduled to race not once but two times in one weekend on June 26th and 27th. Last Friday the Goss Competition team headed to Norway, MI for the “Northern Swing.” The Goss Competition car headed tested was twice at two different racetracks to prepare for this event, the team was very optimistic. “We had hoped to test here at Norway…” said driver Louie Goss, “but we were unable to make our way up here so we stayed near the Green Bay area, besides testing somewhere is better than not testing at all.” After sliding through the infield, but still managing to qualify 14th the team prepared for the races. Once again the number 17 marykay.com/mgoss, B&B Racing Engines Ford Fusion headed for the dirt in the heat races. “I thought I could pass the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place cars all at one time entering turn 3, but I was a little over my head and ended up in the dirt.” In the “Eh” main the 17 car started 13th and finished 14th, still managed to go through the dirt with a little help from the 12 car of Hank Tews, and didn’t wreck anything major. The team will head to 141 Speedway tomorrow to complete the weekend double header that is the Northern Swing stay tuned in for the update.
